Rising seniors are well-served to begin working hard on their college applications this summer, NOT when the fall semester begins. Most students today understand they need to write a strong essay in order to stand out at more selective schools, but they often fail to realize it’s the deceptively short-looking activities section that also tells colleges a ton about their applicants.
For students applying to schools on the Common App, the character count to shine on this section is eensy weensy, so it’s important to plan and fiddle with your wording. (Mercifully for those using the Coalition App, its character counts are a little more generous.)
Take a gander at our guide to doing your best on the activities list, and remember that we’re happy to bring our professional eye to your application in order to help you put your best foot forward with colleges.
